Elmhurst Park District has endless of fun activities and recreational facilities for all age groups. Some of these are as follows:
The Abbey Leisure Center is located at 407 W. St. Charles Rd. The Abbey has been recognized as a leisure center for active, older, fun-loving adults in the community. It is also a resource center providing social service programs such as Rules Of The Road Defensive Driving assistance, informational seminars, and more. The center offers a variety of classes, parties, day trips, extended trips, and clubs to encourage friendship, socialization, and healthy activity.
The Elmhurst Art Museum is the cultural center of DuPage County, Illinois. The Museum specializes in the 20th Century American Art. Its amazing architect was designed around the McCormick House, one of only three Ludwid Mies van der Rohe designed homes built in the United States.
The Sugar Creek Golf Course is a 9-hole, daily fee, par 32 course, owned and operated by the Elmhurst Park District and Village of Villa Park. The course is open year round and about 50,000 golfers come through the gate each year. The golf course has large, smoothly contoured Penncross bent grass greens, a 3-acre pond coming into play on four of the nine holes, and superb turf for golf. The clubhouse renovations in 2003 included the addition of a party room , new restrooms, a new pro shop, and an extended outside deck area. The renovation added the sand traps and ties, extension of the cart path systems, and changing hole #8 from a par 3 to a par 4.
EPD Skate Park is located at York Commons. The new skate park offers thousands of teens the place to safely skateboard, rollerblade, and BMX with their friends. You will find ample of ramps ranging from beginners to advance. Once you are inside the park you will find a half-pipe, snake run, pyramid, and bank ramps. There is also over 203 of coping to grind.
